The New Zealand

Bevan’s

from Whitchurch in 1840

to New Zealand

Featured here is the New Zealand descendants from Thomas Bevan and Mary Bevan who left their home in Whitchurch, England for New Zealand on the sailing ship “ Lady Nugent” in 1840.  Not all landed in Wellington New Zealand as some died on voyage to New Zealand. Life as steerage was not very  pleasant.

Thos Bevan 1801 -1881

St Alkmund's Church-Whitchurch

St Alkmund Church in Whitchurch is where Thomas BEVAN family connections made the ropes for the church bells. It seems that they had been making the ropes for many generations.

The other area where the BEVAN’s were llocated was in Wrexham in Wales on the border next to England. Thomas Bevan’s father David BEVAN owned a Pub in Wrexham.  Strange that none of Thomas Bevan’s children, Grandchildren or even his Great Grand children were named David.

This is the Genealogy site for the Bevan family descendants who can trace their family to the BEVAN surname.

I am keen to promote family links World wide and back .into England / Wales to document the family ancestory.

There is room here for other BEVANS’ which are not connected with my ancestors. I will  post links to your family tree site here.

I have been in contact with BEVAN connections in Canada and information will be posted here soon.

It has taken a while to get registered the new domain extension dot name.  Note its simply www.bevan.family.name

I  can be contacted here.  Garry Clark
